Carol Gomes Sheep BioSecurity Protocol & Sales
Buyers must meet my requirements for having adequate barn and adequate property and graze for the number of sheep they purchase. Breeding ewes need more space depending on how many lambs can be produced. So that requirement includes their lambs as well as them.
NO SALE IS FINAL UNTIL PAYMENT IS MADE IN FULL, in CASH,
AT TIME OF PICKUP.
We sell CASH
only, NO CHECKS, NO DEPOSITS, receipts are provided at time of pickup.
Sheep are loaded down at our entry gate by appointment
only. NO vehicles or buyers will be admitted any further. Remain down at
our entry gate upon arrival.
We require buyers back their vehicle and transport in for loading. We DO NOT have a turn around. If you cannot back in up to the loading gate, no sheep will be loaded, NO SALE.
I require a picture with width, length and height measurements of the transport you will be using at pickup. If you bring another transport instead of the one in the picture with those measurements we agreed upon, expect no sheep to be loaded and NO SALE. What we agree upon prior to sale is not negotiable at time of pickup.
CLEAN dry
quarters are required for loading and transporting our sheep. Vehicles and
Transports must be CLEAN with no manure contents that could fall out onto
our property when we load. Food & water containers
will be required if hauling long distance and/or in warm weather. Make those
arrangements prior to pickup.
We provide plastic disposable shoe covers to be worn while on our property viewing sheep.
Dogs need to remain in the car. Children need to remain by your side, they cannot roam our property.
NO one may enter our sheep pastures/sheep area. Viewing
our sheep is done outside of the fencing and we ask you stand back from
the fencing so our sheep cannot touch you or your clothing.
Do not stand on, lean into or touch our fencing.
NO petting or handling our sheep.
We have a closed flock, NO new sheep come in.
Sheep never leave our property for shows or exhibits.
All sheep sales are final. NO sheep may be returned.
NO farm machinery is rented or leased. We use our own equipment in our pastures/sheep areas.
Our sheep are fed in a clean trough and not off the ground to avoid fecal contamination.
All feeds come from suppliers we know and we examine everything prior feeding it to our sheep.
All hay is stored inside a clean dry barn with a concrete floor. Minerals and loose feeds are kept in dry secure food grade containers so no rodents, birds or insects have free access to those stored feeds.
Water troughs are placed in low traffic areas to help
avoid birds, insects and other wildlife. Fresh
water is added daily. Total water changes are done as often as needed.
